The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) is set to partner with the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST), and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to train over 500 Ghanaian youths for careers in the oil and gas sector. Initial discussions, led by Deputy Chief Executive Onasis Rosely, highlighted a strong commitment from all agencies to the training initiative.
The training program’s framework, duration, and target participants were key topics of discussion, reflecting PHDC’s goal of building local capacity ahead of the Petroleum Hub project’s construction. Speaking at the 2025 West Africa Mining and Power Expo on May 29, Rosely emphasized the importance of equipping residents, especially from the Jomoro area, with essential skills for successful project implementation.
The initiative aims to address skill gaps and ensure that the workforce is trained to international standards, allowing Ghanaians to fully benefit from the project’s opportunities. While acknowledging the significant investment required, Rosely reaffirmed PHDC’s commitment to achieving substantial local participation throughout the hub’s lifecycle.
